Martin now goes to Aetherius to take his place with his father and his father's fathers. Akatosh was summoned to his full power and remembers Martin's sacrifice even when all of Tamerial is in danger because of his once proud firstborn son.
The God of Time has been watching Nirn, but when he turned to Skyrim, all he saw was what Alduin has done thousands of years ago. His other son, Paarthurnax waits at the Throat of the World patiently, but also in guilt for what he did before he realized that Alduin declared himself the will of Akatosh.
Like Paarthurnax, Akatosh was ashamed of Alduin because of his arrogance and ambition, it was something that he defeated in Cyrodill. Akatosh remembered defeating Mehrunes Dagon, Daedra Prince of Destruction and Ambition as Martin Septim sacrificed himself just so he can summon the Aedra. But Alduin was no Mehrunes Dagon, he used to be the wisest of his children, the Dragons. Akatosh let out a tear from his eyes and hoped that the Dragonborn could stop him. He now wanted to show Alduin the error of his ways after the Dragonborn defeats him.
"YOU are the BEST Septim that's ever ruled! Well, except for that Martin fella... but he turned into a DRAGON GOD! And that's hardly sporting..." -Sheogorath (Skyrim)
In my mind, I like to think that our character from Oblivion still thinks about what happened 'back then' and misses Martin just as much as we do, except that "our character" is insane now, and has a harder time expressing it...
Haha, sure. It's just that his characters are often all too easy to take a liking to! I got seriously pissed when he got his bean chopped off in Game of Thrones, and I still think the death of Boromir is the saddest death in Lord of the Rings.
Well spoil it why don't you? haha, I already saw that ep of Game of Thrones (and read the book) so no worries, but be careful with your spoilers! and yea Boromir was awesome, he wasn't corrupt like people generally think he is.
Whops. Yes, that was rather careless of me... I simply didn't think about it as a spoiler, since it happened so long ago, and most people allready knows what happened to him. But you're right, I should not fraw assumptions. Terribly sorry. Haha, glad I didn't spoil anything for you, then!
